Initial Assessment

This is an essential step, allowing us to tailor a treatment plan that will help you achieve better oral health. If you're a new client, we will complete a medical and dental questionnaire. We will perform a complete intra-oral, extra-oral, and periodontal exam to determine the state of your oral health, as well as doing a cavity risk-assessment. We will also perform an oral cancer screening at every visit, doing a visual and tactile exam of the head, neck, face and mouth to screen for any suspicious lesions.

Treatments

  • Dental scaling, and debridement for the removal of tartar. This process disrupts bacteria growth, and reduces inflammation of gum tissue.  Recommended every 3-6 months depending on your individual situation.

  • Polishing and removal of surface stains

  • Fluoride treatments to help prevent tooth decay (cavities)

  • Treatments to help reduce tooth sensitivity

  • Remineralization of tooth structure, to re-strengthen weak or soft teeth,  helping arrest tooth decay and reducing the risk of cavities.

  • Oral hygiene instruction

Dentures

  • Check for sores under dentures, which might indicate a poor or changing fit

  • Remove calculus and stain from dentures

  • Advice and instruction on oral hygiene and tips on how to maintain your dentures

  • Recommendations for referrals to other health care professionals if required.
